Treatment Details

We cleaned the tooth surfaces with Airflow, which sprays a fine powder together with water and air.
Because the powder gently blows the stains away instead of scraping them off with a metal instrument, it does not damage the teeth or gums.
The treatment removed staining from the backs of the teeth and the gaps between them, along with biofilm (a film of bacteria) associated with cavities and periodontal disease, restoring the teeth’s natural colour and a smooth surface.

Risks & Side Effects

Because the powder is sprayed with force, those with sensitive teeth or gum inflammation may temporarily feel a tingling or stinging sensation.
Also, right after treatment the pellicle, the film that protects the tooth surface, is removed, making the teeth more prone to staining, so for 2–3 hours after treatment you need to avoid strongly colored food and drink (such as coffee, black tea, curry, and red wine) and smoking.
